New from BE! Jazz – a six CD-box set of recordings from the “Jazz am Rhein” open air festival 1967 & 1968, featuring big bands like the Kurt Edelhagen All Star Band as well as smaller combos with Manfred Schoof, Peter Trunk, George Gruntz and Dusko Goykovich. The booklet has contemporary reviews in German and English plus concert pictures, posters, tickets and more.

Classic Hank Snow

Watch out for a new print run of the first Hank Snow box from Bear Family coming soon. The new set has an expanded 20-page book with a few additional pictures and an updated discography with  LP and EP track listings (and cover pix). (The music is the same as before – no new mastering or such.)

As there’s still hardly any news on a Jerry Lee Lewis box from Bear Family we’ll show some pictures from the Jutta Hipp box, coming from BE! Records in October:

Apart from her music the box will include a big fat hardcover book with a biography of Jutta Hipp (in English and German), illustrated with private photos, press clippings – and many of her fabulous paintings and drawings, reaching back to her art school days in Leipzig, Germany in the 1940s.
